Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) has finally hit the target in the Tour of Turkey. The 2021 winner of “De Scheldeprijs” had to settle for 2nd best three times this week, but in the 6th stage, he got his win. He narrowly beat veteran André Greipel (Israel Start-Up Nation) to the finish line. Mark Cavendish (Deceuninck-Quick Step), already 3 wins in the bag was very alert and great positioned near Greipel and Philipsen who now waited a little longer to explode. With success: he narrowly held off André Greipel and Halvorsen (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team) in 3rd and kept Cavendish off the podium this time. Irish Jesse Ewart (Sapura) was in the same bunch and now in the top 30 in the GC, Cormac Mc Geough (Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling) finished in the second big group on the road 2m19s down on the winner Philipsen. Tomorrow again a possibility for another sprint. Cav leads the points GC with 1 point so the battle for the green jersey could be interesting!!
