The Emmyvale GP served us with a new course and headquarters this year, this on some smooth but demanding rolling roads in the Monaghan area. Very well organised race, plenty of marshals to keep the racers safe and a mix from all corners of Ireland, as far as Galway, Kanturk, Dublin, Belfast and Donegal to name a few counties present today. Great to see this gathering of same minded people as you have the chance of meeting new people and make new friends in the bargain. Find easy enough the new headquarters (Martins Fuels) but lost a bit of direction of the 24km loop and only met the racers in their 3thd lap, but managed to have some action shots and all winning shots to, but a bit annoyed with myself as I had already done the course in the morning watching the youth section of the GP (separate report tomorrow on our youth section of the site) First race the A1-A2 main race and some early breaks who came to nothing and all together in the last lap, some lively attacks started and a solo winner with Matthew Mc Cullagh (Sundrive Dublin) in the end. The A3’s and Juniors next on the road and the A4’s soon after. Last send away the masters and the ladies to complete the order of the day( a special feature tomorrow of the woman’s race) Gareth O’ Neil had a mechanical at the start and had to chase to get in touch with the bunch, but the revelation of this years Newry Wheelers team still managed to come a close second in the end..he is being knocking on the door a few times and a win very soon again!!  A word of thanks of the organisers towards the sponsors, volunteers and all who supported this great event here below.Ardaghey Community Centre and Residents, the Fitness Habit, Universal Graphics, Emyvale Credit Union, Tommy Martin Fuels, Gardai , Red Cross, Commissaires, all our Marshals,Panic Hire , Murphy Videos Services, Killylough CC,  Peadar McMahon  (Emyvale . Net) Monaghan County Council and Councillor Sean Conlon and all our own members who helped out in every way to make today a success.  Personally a thank you to Emmyvale CC for their donation towards my petrol costs..it is very much appreciated and help me to travel more to such events as theirs.
