This Saturday we have the Junior and Ladies elite section of the champs, favorite has to be Adam Ward after his dominance in the Newry 3 day beating a field of seniors and top juniors, with his very strong team mates Breandan Flannagan and Cathir Doyle they have the luxury of making a good plan to control this race, but the Nicolas Roche juniors could put a spanner in the Powerhouse boys works..looking forward to this race, they even coming from Belgium to support with Sabien Himpe and Rik Masil ( guest parents of the BP)Last years Junior Champ Ethan Downey (Clann Eirann)  In the afternoon we have the ladies elite race and who will beat Lydia Boylan is the big question, and with Katharine Smyth in good form and a few ladies coming on rightly lately we maybe have a battle on our hands..but the one we should look for this year is Eve McCrystal so I maybe just have mention the podium 2018 here.On Sunday we have the ladies junior race in the morning with the Elite Men and U/23’s to follow and this will be some battle as Nicolas Roche, Sam Bennett and Ryan Mullen at the start, but it would not be the first time that an amateur get involved in the proceedings, and with Lyndsay Watson of Powerhouse in flying form you never know..especially a climb of 1,5km at each of the 10 laps on the  menu. The likes of  James Curry, Ryan Reilly, John Buller, Michael o’ Laughlin, Marc Heaney, Conor mc Cann, Conn Mc Dunphy, Jake Gray and Dillon Corkery, Luke Smith and not forgetting Ben Walsh,  just to name a few, they will all have a roll to play in the U/23 section of the race. Well I will be there in Collooney with a 4am start on Saturday morning. I will also distribute the graduates funding and already some bursaries to the riders I don’t see very often due to living in N-Ireland. All photos courtesy of David Mc Veigh of the media team who this year can not make it due to family commitments, so you will have to do with my photos this time, will do my best to capture the whole event as good possible..unfortunately we can not be at the TT tomorrow as travelling twice to Sligo is a bit to much for an old man like In behalf of the project and his volunteers we wish all riders a safe weekend and a successful one for many. Also we wish smooth goings to the host of the champs “The Eire Og Cycling Club” and promoters Cycling Ireland and Cycling Connaght..see you all in Sligo..
