Pleasant summer evening at the Banbridge Criterium who included the Tommy Givan Memorial Youth Races( been cancelled a few weeks ago) and the Banbridge  CC generously provided a window to held this races. Results and photo’s at the bottom of this report. A decent crowd saw some fast racing, and soon after the start Powerhouse Sport nr 1 rider Lindsay Watson broke away, and soon joined by local lad John Buller (Belgian Project Graduate 2018) They soon took some distance but the bunch was chasing and other local lad James Curry ( La Pomme Marseille France)  made the connection in the latter part of the 50minutes +5 laps race. This 3 stayed away and lapped eventually the bunch who already was shattered with riders all over the course of 1km, with Xeno Young, Gary Donaldson and Gareth Mc Kee getting away from the bunch to and racing for the minor places. A sprint in the end declared the winner and a very popular one it was with John getting the better of James who thought he won the race and raised his arm, but as I said in the title ..” its not over till the fat lady sings” even it was an inch to short for James..We spotted multiple Giro stage winner Sam Bennett at the finish who was a popular visitor to the race. Sam is in Banbridge for the stag party of Sean Downey tomorrow who will be held in Carlingford..Would like to be a fly on the wall on that Our next stop is Dublin for the International Track GP UCI2 event..and reports over the weekend coming up starting tomorrow night ..We also handed over a BP bursary to Niamh McKiverigan (Powerhouse Lady Junior) while being in her hometown and to Lee Harvey (U/A Ulster) well done Niamh and Lee . We also handed over the social clothing to our guest photographer Sharon Mc Farland, and she looked fabulous in her new outfit donated by Ken Jones of Onimpex-Bio Racer GB. Goodnight or good morning..
