The Irish junior show…second one-two result of the wee ouk with Breandan Flannagan this time taking the honors, Adam Ward taking second, both racing for Powerhouse Sport ,Cathir Doyle in his first race 8th and Cian May nicely in chasing group in 38th place both racing for VZW Molenspurters Meulenbeke and graduates BP…not bad for a start but the 1-2 is very much noted in the junior section of the sport..The irish champion jersey holder Adam and copain Breandan now very marked men..don’t think it will bother them very much as it is more about catch us if you can!!At the other race involving Irish U/23 in Lichtegem (West Flanders) 2 graduates of the project been involved, John Buller and Conor Mc Cann both guest riding for VZW molenspurters Meulenbeke. They suffered from the heath but finished the full 115km lenght of the race in the remainder of the bunch..Jake Gray (VC Touchy) been in a chasing bunch all race ended on his own in 21st place out of 87 entries. Ex guest team of the project ( and we maybe work with them again in 2019)  DECOCK-VAN EYCK-DEVOS-CAPOEN won the race with Jens Vandenbogaerde ( his 14th win this season including provincial championship) so all well at the western front. Photos courtesy of Martine Verfaillie our reporter/photographer in Belgium ( junior race veldegem) John Buller getting the hang of taking a bidon on the right hand side of the road at 40km speed, he got the bottle ok after a wee jump. His soigneur and guest father Hein Derynck in action handing the bidon very much needed in weather like we have for the moment. The winner Jens Vandenbogaerde and principals discussing the race Hein Derynck from Tielt receiving his 10th anniversary of the project’s medal. Hein has been looking after our lads (and lasses) for a few years now..Hein works with disabled people as care taker and his dedication to the project is very much appreciated. David Geldhof above photo. Always have been a fan of this racer..has more then 18 years experience in elite racing and many wins towards his name..He combines night shift work with races as so many riders have to, that’s what I admire in such racers..determination and passion. Next report one of the juniors races, till then tara
