It just didden’t happen for Lee Harvey and Thomas Creighton at the worlds this time around but certainly not to be shamed in such high class field. Thomas came in 69th of the 120 starters and Lee a bit further in 91st place. They both got at least a feel how it is like at the world top and can build on that for the future..such experience is so valuable for their development and surely will bring this two fellows on this winter season. The two Belgian Project bursary holders done their upper best and that is all you can ask from them..give them the same chances next year and I bet the results will be different..Rome was not build in one day comes to mind..We can not forget the back up staff (see photo above with Simon Curry and Gareth McKee) who give up their free time to care for this lads abroad, mostly self funded and with one thing in mind..development and nursing talent..Photos taken from Mark Harvey’s page who accompanied his son Lee in Swiss and his thaughts about the race >> Both the boys did well , they only got a short paractice session yesterday then raced today. The other guys have been on course practicing since Monday so they were at a big disadvantage plus it rained heavily just before the start and they hadn’t ridden the track in the wet. All things considered they’ve done a great job<< The CX season lurks now for the lads..a discipline they are also very good in..and hopefully another call up to race for the national team in the future..
