Its a lovely smile from the girls above and a well done from us ..The ” Get County Down and get Dirty Delamont CX ” got his second edition today in much better ground condition then last years first..freshly cut grass and dry as a bone made it faster and less work for the pit crew to deal with. The finish line moved to an open area and a climb to the pit made it exiting for the spectators and the wood parts perfectly blend in made it a fast and demanding for all 250 competitors at the 7 races been offered today by Killinchy CC and his members. The morning was all about the under age races and attracted a good crowd with ever growing youth entries, you talk about clubs and their youth coming from far away places like Donegal, Louth, Meath, Dublin, Navan, Cavan, Omagh, Derry and off course the local Down clubs made it a very colorful affair. The afternoon races started with the U/14-U/16 and Ladies race with the MTB ladies support section as last starters, and with the absence of League leader Fran Meehan an opportunity for her close fellow competitors to get a win or valuable points..A very consistent Asia Bula from the Lakeside Wheelers (Mullingar) done exactly so, but didn’t had it on her plate that easy as The Bike house’s Rachel Irvine made Asia work hard for the win and took second doing so, the first year Carn Wheelers junior  Darcey Harkness taking a superb 3th.. Next was the main race for Elite men & U23’s and Juniors that had Glenn Kinnings as favorite but ex Belgian Project graduate and international Angus Fyffe (Caldwell Cycles) had other ideas ( Keeping it Caldwell so to went upfront from the start and kept a small distance ahead all race to Glenn but needed all his strength to due so..Graham Boyd slowly coming to the form he had last last year got the better of Dominic Mc Cartan for 3th place but had to keep his speed up for the lurking Dominic all 7 laps !! We rounded of the day with the B-Race who had the most entries of the day, dominated by 16 year old Paul Antoine Hagan from TVR who had his first CX race with a bike only purchased 5 days ago and proved to his dad that the expense was a well worth investment..Sean Mc Court from Vc Glendale the only threat for Paul Antoine but his chase from lap 1 made him making a safe separation from the other lads but couldn’t get close enough to the leader to challenge first place..A very welcoming soup and  bread after as we had a cold but dry day in the fields and very much appreciated from all of us..Well done Killinchy CC, his volunteers, his tea ladies and sponsors ” The Poachers Pocket ” and “Chain Reaction” , the commissaires, timekeepers and Emergency Ambulance crew .More photos courtesy of Belgian Project guest photographer Tony Mairs (Irish Track Champ & East Tyrone Track Team)      Results courtesy of Martin Grimley and his team
