A wee visit to Bangor today to see one of worlds top bike fitters in action, and having a wee chat with my Italian friend and sponsor Matteo Cigala who was in town for a fitting session with Michele Dalla Piazza at the Bike House cycle shop near the sea front. Michele work renowned in the world of pro cycling with an impressive client list including UCI Pro Tour Teams such as Quick Step Floor. Bahrein Merida, Astana. Movistar. UEA, Cannondale, Kathusa, Androni Bardiani CSF, Wilier Triestini, Farnese Vini, CCC and many more. Michele works home in Italy with his father for already more the 20 years and visit Ireland each year to do some workshops all over the country. It is part of Matteo’s service to cyclists with also cycling holidays, coaching and a retail on line included what the Italian gent has to offer. Yesterday they have been to Limerick (Raw Cycling), today Bangor and tomorrow at the Waterford Cycle Center. With some Dublin dates already done on Monday & Tuesday at 360 Cycles shop they have covered a big part of the country, and to give each province a chance to see Michele at work, and take home the benefits of such fitting as each positioning is unique to the individual and without use of software and technology. Our body is not a machine, every individual is different, the position on the bike is essential for using your muscles 100%. A correct bike fitting can improve the performance of the rider by 30% and avoid injuries” says Michele and with some many pro’s as clients he knows his onions alright !! In addition the owners of “The Bike house” have kindly agreed to hold a raffle again this X-Mas time in aid of the Belgian Project for the 3th time already and grateful for their gester. This time they will raffle a Belgian Project Luxury Hoodie (Medium) kindly donated by Onimpex-Bioracer GB our co sponsor and this will go towards the bursary fund of the project in full. (more info closer to X-Mas) So a pleasant and productive afternoon in Bangor with an Italian flair in the bargain!!
