Richard Maes (as the brewery name) has certainly Flanders blood running through his veins for  sure as his opa (grandfather) coming from Diksmuide ( famous for their “Ijzer Toren ” who portrait Flemish awareness) The firm leader of the Munster league beats ex continental Pro Paidi O’ Brien and goes to the final round with a solid lead. This was round 6 of the Munster CX league. The other Flanders connection is in the name of the winning lady Nessa Rochford’s team “Ronde van Cork CC” who took the win of Grace Young (also Ronde van Cork Team) who had a technical but kept her second place safe. Due to Munster CX leader Lisa Stapelbroek not starting (another Flemish/Afrikaans name) Grace Young is taking over the leader jersey with one round to go.
