Foyle’s Ronan and Rachel proudly present their wee baby Sophia to us and collecting the “Competitive Event of the Year Award” on behalf of Foyle CC ( Foyle 3 Day)

Last night we had a very pleasant evening in the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown at the CU Awards 2019! This to celebrating all our medal and award winners. Nearly 200 people filled the function room of the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown to the rafters. I have to thank Cycling Ulster for letting me organise the raffle and all proceeds to be awarded to the Belgian Project. £459 worth of tickets been sold on the night by “Dany’s Angels” (Maria Mc Allister Island Wheelers, Katie Neill and Darcey Harkness both from Carn Wheelers, and Aine Doherty from the Belfast VC Glendale Imps) and so very much appreciated by us. Thanks to all who bought tickets and the contributors with donating some prizes, such as Tommy McCague (CU Chairman) Bioracer-Onimpex GB, Mc Convey Cycles, Dave Kane Cycles, The Bike house Bangor, Kinnings Cycles, NI Supplements, Arco Barbers, Mango Bikes, and FuelforFirst. Lots of awards but the most noticeable would be MBE Jack Watson (CI stalwart) receiving the CU Chairman’s award, my good friend and photographer Toby Watson becoming the ” CU Volunteer of the year” The food in the Greenvale Hotel was sublime, the craic mighty and the many kids present very well behaved, their parents ..Well done to all..A special mention to the devil to it all Martin Grimley who was the MC of the night and Patrick Whithers who had a very difficult job of getting the hundreds of medals and awards ready on the night and with success too. Special guest was Ciaran McKenna President of Cycling Ireland to hand over the special awards of the evening. Here some selected photo’s and more can be found on Full medal and award list>>
