200+ cyclists for a good cause!! Cyclists have big hearts, maybe some other road users should sometimes think of that when they curse them. They care about your families too!
The star and mascot of the Day ..Young Cian McGrath who got the all-clear after intense chemo treatment last year! The proceeds of last years Charity run of VC Glendale was donated towards his very expensive treatment. A feel-good story who gives others hope.

The famous blue of VC Glendale mixed with so many other clubs colours graced the roads on the outskirts of Belfast today. This all in aid of http://www.cancerfundforchildren.com A 50km charity spin promoted and organised by VC Glendale and friends. Due to some younger riders in the bunch, the pace was controlled by the grown-ups so to speak and 2 hours later they all arrived back at the grounds of the Balmoral Hotel in Dunmurry in great spirit. A hot drink and some cakes awaiting them and a lot of happy and content faces all around. Before the start Volunteer, Eddie of the South Belfast support group, representing the charity thanked everyone for coming down and wished them good luck and a safe journey. Ulster Volunteer of the year and VC Glendale stalwart Toby Watson then also thanked the crowd for showing up in such big number (200+) Latest news was that approx £2700 was donated and this figure will grow as a raffle of some Jerseys and prizes proceeds will be added at the award Night held tonight (Sat 9th) at the same hotel. We will make a report of that in the coming days. Well done to the girls and boys from West Belgium (called in some quarters and I wonder why..lol) and of course all the kind people who showed up today to raise so much money in aid of this wonderful and caring cause…respect
