Sam in 2011

I met Sam Bennett the first time in 2011 at the Ras and predicted a great future for the lad witnessing his speed and his manners (very approachable young man) Well 70+ pro wins later he is now on the top of the world in cycling. He is certainly in the league of the Kelly’s and Roches now and amazes us with his sprints to the line in the UCI pro world races…his last 2 wins this week in Paris-Nice something only Kelly has managed for Ireland. Sam reminds me of Freddy Maertens who also had no fear of going in mad speeds to the line…Well done Sam…hard work pays off …Happy St-Patrick tomorrow and hopefully still in green when arriving in Nice.
