The Junior girls race at the Nationals on a cold and breezy Sunday morning in the beautiful surroundings of Wicklow. Only 3 girls at the start, but that’s not their fault and they deserve a race very much so..they stayed together in the first lap and Aoife O’ Brien (Torelli) was the first to attack and dangled for 2 laps with maybe 10 seconds ahead of Annie Roche (Quanta) and Emma Smith (Navan RC) Eventually they came back together and Aoife and Emma dropped Annie in the last few miles, but Annie battled on to take her bronze medal. It was left to the other two to sprint for gold…Aoife had the better of Emma at the line and proudly can race next year in the Champion jersey.
