The Connacht Leisure Series has staged two events so far in Sligo and Roscommon and we look forward to three more events over the next few weeks.As the Series stages one event in each County the final three are in Leitrim, Galway and Mayo
First up on Sunday July 28th in Manorhamilton Leitrim is the Leitrim Glens Sportive with four events 40k,100k,150k and 200k.
All of the events quite challenging but particularly the 200k which does not often be offered in Sportive events. All the details can be found on their website www.leitrimglens.ie
The Leitrim event is followed by the Galway event staged by Galway Bay CC on Saturday August 3rd which is the same weekend as the Galway Classic Road Race so plenty of options here in Galway for all levels of Cyclists. All info on www.ridetheclassic.com

Lakeside Wheelers told us: Our good friend and clubmate Stephen Corroon suffered a dreadful accident on the Orwell Wheelers Randonnee on May 4th this year. Lakeside Wheelers have set up a fundraising page to help Stephen and his family to meet and deal with the immediate challenges he faces. Stephen is an active member of our club for many years competing in local cycling leagues, national open racing, club spins, charity spins, marshalling at races and much more. The 2025 “Wallace Caldwell Memorial” was run as a handicap for the C1-C2 race, and won by Banbridge Junior Adam Matthews!! The C3 race was won by Luke Keaney (Orwell Wheelers Dublin) and 1st of the weekend (see report tomorrow of the PJ Logan) and first women was Elena Wallace (Harps CC) So a “JOB WELL DONE” for the promoter Ballymena RC (Sat 12th April)

Ex Graduates, ex-bursary holders, and current ones…How do they fare lately (Part 1) Shenna McKiverigan (Dan Morrissey-Pactimo) won 3 medals at the “World Police and Fireman Games in Rotterdam last week, and John Buller (Amicale Cycliste Bisontine FR) also from Banbridge, won a division 1 race in France, this after winning the National Crit Champs a few weeks ago in Kells…this is pleasing me big time, and very proud of them both!!

2022 Ulster CX League (Round 7) hosted by Ballymena Road Club (Sun 27th Nov) The Irish CX Champ Christopher Dawson (Spectra Wiggle p/b Vitus) wins his first CX in the Champ Jersey, while teenager Lucy Brown  (16) wins the women’s race, but the race of the day was the U16 boys, with Curtis Mc Kee (Scott Bright Motor Group) get the better of Cameron Henry (Inspired Cycling) in a exciting battle from the whistle!!
