The Sport Northern Ireland SportMaker Awards are making a welcome return for 2020.
#SportMaker awards process shines a light on the local sporting workforce, recognising the outstanding contribution of coaches, officials, volunteers, and projects and the role they play in encouraging people to benefit from the power of sport. Club coaches, officials, and the wider volunteering family have continued to play an instrumental role in supporting and keeping our communities and athletes active over the past twelve months, and more recently, as the world adjusts to the new ways of working, exercising and developing others during the coronavirus pandemic. Antoinette McKeown, Chief Executive of Sport Northern Ireland, said: “We at Sport Northern Ireland are back for another year to give our sporting community the opportunity to showcase their achievements and say a special ‘thank-you’ to local coaches, officials, volunteers, and projects as we now open the 2020 SportMaker Awards for nominations.”The SportMaker Awards will once again acknowledge the work of Northern Ireland’s sporting workforce and highlight the outstanding achievements of the people and projects that have made an enormous impact over the past year, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nominations can be made by members of the public across six award categories for coaches, two award categories for officials, two award categories for volunteers, and one category for SportMaker projects. For further information/guidance or to submit a nomination please use below links
