The 2024 National Hill Climb Championship in Rathfarnham, Dublin, hosted by Orwell CC, with a 3.38km climb with an average 9% ascent. Well done to Killian O’Brien overall winner as a Junior, and Gold for Caoimhe May (Women), M40 Stuart Mc Caughey, M50 Neil Mc Kenna and M60 gold for John Madden!! (Sat 5th Oct)

Six Podium finishes for Mia Griffin & Lara Gillespie competing in the “Trois Jours d’Aigle” at their UCI track last weekend (Switzerland 26-27-28 Sept) Also strong results for Philip O’ Connor & Luca Holmes. Incidentally all 4 have received a Belgian Bursary award over the years, the boys actually this year…Well done is certainly in order!!

When 2 Dutch girls fight for Gold, a cool Belgian Girl runs away with it!! But the star of the show was Justine Ghekiere, the only other surviving Belgian, who neutralised the Dutch bickering stars!! Ireland’s Fiona Mangan survived this grueling race with a determent effort, the sisters O’Brien didn’t, but they have given it all, so chapeau girls!! (Zurich/Sat 28th Sept)
