Annemiek van Vleuten only started her season today and proved she is definitely still a force to reckon with!! After the Knokteberg, when a group including Julie Van de Velde was seized, Van Vleuten got away with Katarzyna Niewiadoma. The counter-reaction started a little too late and the leap forward of defending champion Ellen van Dijk and Yara Kastelijn also failed. Van Vleuten and Niewiadoma went together to the finish, where the Dutch had a sharper sprint than her colleague 12 years younger. Van Vleuten is already the 8th Dutch winner in 9 editions of Dwars door Vlaanderen!! Our Irish Alice Sharp (Rupelcleaning-Champion Lubricants) finished in a big group about 9 minutes down in 83th place, Lauren Creamer (Lviv CT) and Mia Griffin (Rupelceaning) unfortunately didn’t finish
