Continued support is so important to the Belgian Project…it gives me a boost to continue my work and promote the cycling sport to the full. Without such help and off course the new sponsors input we can not reach our goals, and give our youth a chance to “Live the Dream” Tommy is the dad of Marc Heaney (ex under 23 international cyclist and now a fittness instructor with www.tsfitnessacademy.com) and became a sponsor in 2018, he wanted to support in the earlier days of the project, but I couldn’t except as Marc was in my selection process and this would have been a conflict of interest. When Marc was established in Belgium the door became open for Tommy…He wanted other young riders having the chance of participating and a partnership was established with Heaney Motors. This company delivers top quality work which is something all sponsors of the project have in common!! Therefore a big thank you and appreciation is in order Tommy…

Tom Heaney first got into the motor trade at the age of 14, he started his apprenticeship in Swatragh Northern Ireland, before moving to England where he completed his apprenticeship & run a successful service department in a Birmingham based main dealership, he also had the experience of working on many of the cars we restore today giving him an immense knowledge base. He returned to Northern Ireland in 1970 and worked as workshop foreman for Darragh & Maine in Cookstown until opening our business in 1973.
Tom was joined by his son Tommy in 1983 who at 16yrs old went on to complete his apprenticeship and City & Guilds in motor mechanics. Heaney Motor Company started life as a general repair and body shop working on regular everyday cars, but in the early 90s, seeing a change in the car market, we made the decision to move into the restoration business.
