I met Oliver for the first time at the Tour of Ulster about 14 years ago when I shared a room with him in Dungannon as, we both worked in the race, also both where champions in snoring, I think he won that night! We became friends, and since then, we met at stage races many times after, the last time this year at the Ras Mumhan in Co-Kerry at Easter. Stage races will be not the same, and whoever will do his job as PA radio man has big boots to fill, I got the news of his passing while in Belgium, and not able to attend his funeral last Saturday, so hereby my sincere condolences to his wife Mary Jo, sisters Nuala and Úna, brothers Henry and Martin, family members and his friends in the cycling fraternity. Rest In Peace Oliver, till we meet again…

(Day 4 Sun 6th August ) The Para-Cycling Team Ireland receives a 3rd bronze medal with Ronan Grimes!! The medal count now stands at 5, which includes 2 off the Gran Fondo part of the champs. This on a chaotic, but much enjoyable day at the Elite RR Champs. The Irish supporters just bringing the craic to Glasgow, supporting our lads despite their bad luck!! But well done to Dutch Matthieu VDP “Simply the best, better than all the rest”

Ex Graduates, ex-bursary holders, and current ones…How do they fare lately (Part 1) Shenna McKiverigan (Dan Morrissey-Pactimo) won 3 medals at the “World Police and Fireman Games in Rotterdam last week, and John Buller (Amicale Cycliste Bisontine FR) also from Banbridge, won a division 1 race in France, this after winning the National Crit Champs a few weeks ago in Kells…this is pleasing me big time, and very proud of them both!!
