The few times over the years I met Shay, I could feel the love of cycling straight away, just one of the good guys who keep our cycling afloat year after year, he certainly will be missed in Lucan and Cycling Leinster, and in many cases further afield!! His vision towards the youth and junior cycling was inspiring and educational, the fraternity will miss him, but most off all his wife and children, and close family and friends, I will light a candle for his safe passage to an other world, with sorrow, Dany Blondeel
