Hundreds of Cyclists to Swarm Ballinrobe for Epic Gravel Adventure

Ballinrobe will come alive this Sunday morning as cyclists from every corner of Ireland descend on the town for a one-of-a-kind gravel cycling challenge. From rugged bog roads to winding boreens, this thrilling event will push riders to test their skill and stamina against the wild beauty of the west.This is no ordinary spin. The course features a spectacular loop around Lough Carra and the Partry Mountains, blending breathtaking scenery with a true taste of adventure. Cyclists will tackle an exciting variety of gravel terrains while soaking up views that stretch from shimmering lake shores to ancient pilgrim paths. Route highlights include the Bowers Walk, Srah, Killawalia, Clogher, and Moorehall loop walks, with a return to Ballinrobe via the Lost Treasure Trail. Each section offers its own distinctive character and history, following tracks once travelled long before modern roads existed – and now reborn as a playground for Ireland’s boldest off-road riders, with some high profile riders attending, it’s also a great opportunity to get pictures and mingle with Ireland’s best cycling talent. Rás na mBan is the premier international women’s cycling event in Ireland. In its current format it runs for six stages, over five days for a total of over 400km of racing action and attracts riders from all five continents to race the roads of Ireland. The Tour of South Derry will taken place on Sunday 14 September. Once again the chosen charity is NI Cancer Fund for Children in conjunction with Kelly’s Eurospar Maghera.
