Another tragedy hits the Irish Cycling Fraternity with the tragic death of Tomas Walsh, 25 year old cyclist of Comeragh CC (County Waterford) Tomas was in Paris, on his way to the Alps yesterday (Mon 21st July) to see some stages of the TDF when a serious accident occurred (no details available) Our sincere condolences to Tomas’s family and friends…Rest in Peace dear lad.

The smile of Ludo Dierckxsen is no more!! Peoples cycling hero Ludo Dierckxsens was best known for winning the 11th stage of the 1999 Tour de France, and was the Belgian Champion of 1999! Ludo collapsed during a 1000 km bike ride in aid of the cancer charity “Kom op tegen Kanker” on 29 May 2025 in Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde. The para medic’s couldn’t revive him, Ludo passed away on the road.
