A perfect day for testing in beautiful country surroundings, sunny weather, and not to much wind…add an experienced promoting club as Emyvale CC ( including the Nationals in 2011 on their CV) and ready for a day of serious speeds and performances. Dozens of volunteers, plenty of motorbike marshals, even more, static ones, and the Garda controlling the finish area…a very safe championship indeed!! All COVID-19 precautions in place, which was respected by all involved and about 60 plus starters who tackled the very rolling roads in very fast times. We also had a few visitors from other provinces, only the ones who allowed to travel due to the new restrictions put upon us last night! They maybe couldn’t win a medal but that didn’t stop them from getting some top places. I was invited to do the commentary and had to juggle with calling the riders to the start, taking a few photos, and doing my usual waffling on, one moment I was talking to my camera instead of the microphone, but hey…all part of the fun..lol.

A thank you to Emyvale CC for inviting me, enjoyed a day in such beautiful area of County Monaghan
