Uneventful day yesterday till the last 1500 meters to the finish, a day that had a break who had massive TV exposure, which must please their sponsors, Sam Bennett feeling not well, but finishing and Dan Martin protecting his podium place in style. Guillaume Martin (Cofidis) made a fruitful shot at the stage victory but was overtaken by a devastating Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) in the last hectometres. No one could answer the Slovenian’s explosion. He went untenable to his 3rd stage victory, but it was a long guess about the red jersey, was there a gap with Richard Carapaz (Ineos) or not? Yes, no, and then yes: the jury put the Ecuadorian on 3 seconds, so Roglic inherits the red. Carapaz is in the same second.
