“To celebrate its 10th edition, the organisers have put together a dynamic route that promises aggressive racing from start to finish. Add to that a star-studded start list and forecasts of high winds, and you have all the makings of an epic race” A 126 km race for stage 1 on the Motor race circuit of Assen (NL) ended up in a bunch sprint after a brave solo attack of 18-year-old Daniek Hengeveld just caught 150 meters before the line! The end of the race nearly spoilt with a crash close to the finish line, the front riders could just about avoid the unfortunate girl Lorena Wiebes, who got back on the bike with no serious injuries. Jolien D’Hoore beats narrowly Alice Barnes (GB Champion 2020) and takes the Yellow for tomorrows stage.
