The Australian took 5 seconds less on the Chrono in Catalonia than Rémi Cavagna (Deceuninck-Quickstep) his teammate João Almeida was a fraction faster than Brandon McNulty in the battle for third place, making the Portuguese immediately leader. Nicolas Roche didn’t start today…he had been in contact with a staff member of his team DMS who tested positive for Covid and needs to be tested. Dan Martin lost 1m 30s to today’s winner Rohan…he will have to catch-up with the GC contenders in the coming mountain stages!
