56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey (2.Pro) Stage 7: Marmaris >> Turgutreis (180km)

On a very windy stage Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) done it again in the Tour of Turkey. For the 2nd day in a row, Jasper showed the other sprinters his backside in the final sprint. He also guided teammate Jay Vine in the intermediate sprint to 3 bonus seconds. As a result, the Australian is now approaching leader José Manuel Diaz to within 1 second. In the up and down final, Shane Archbold (Deceuninck-Quick Step) tried to give the peloton another heel. But his escape attempt failed in the final kilometers. Alpecin-Fenix carried out the team game with verve in the final sprint. Taminiaux got into the lead-out role and put Philipsen off in pole position. Nobody came close anymore, Greipel finished in 2nd place, Cavendish finished 3rd. The Irish lads safely in with Jesse Ewart in the sprinting bunch and now 26th in the GC, and Cormac Mc Geough in a group a few minutes down
