85th La Flèche Wallonne (1.UWT) One day race: Charleroi >> Mur de Huy (193.6km)

Julian Alaphilippe has won La Fleche Wallonne for the third time in four years. The Frenchman from Deceuninck-Quick Step counted on the final climb in Huy with Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) who was perhaps a bit too eager attacking the murderous slope. The classic bunch sprint was opened quite early and especially firmly by Primoz Roglic. The Slovenian superstar started at 300 meters from the end, Julian Alaphilippe used his wits, course knowledge, and sense of timing. The world champion waited for 50 meters longer, crawled closer meter by meter, used the tipping moment, and saw how the spring broke at Roglic at 50 meters from the top. The French World Champ rushed to his 3rd victory!  At the age of 40, Alejandro Valverde was by no means disappointed with a 3rd place, Tom Pidcock was a bit trapped and got stuck in 6th place. His teammate Eddie Dunbar done big turns earlier in the race and finished in 153rd place

The sprint has started with 300 meters to go
