Freddy told me: “Hi Dany, went to watch the women’s race in Vrasene yesterday. 2 heavy falls marred the kermesse: 11 ladies had to be taken to the hospital. Good performance by Ellen Mc Dermott. She finished 7th on a leading group of 9 who were 2 min 30′ ahead of the pack. In this, Michelle Geoghan finished 28th and Imogen Cotter 58th. Megan Armitage was less successful. She got involved in the first heavy crash but didn’t really crashed and not hurt. By the time she was back on her bike, the peloton was too far to get back to it. She felt very anxious that she could not finish, but later in the evening, she had found the courage again to look forward to the next races. We had a very nice chat about Ireland, we talked about locations that we both know very well. It is a peach of a girl and very social. Her boyfriend, Cyrus Monk is an Australian professional cyclist who lives with her in Aalter until the end of October. He races for the continental team EVO Pro Racing
