A beautiful spring evening in Belfast was on the menu yesterday (Wednesday 27th April) with a track training meeting at the Orangefield Velodrome in East Belfast (Castlereagh) I got myself a newish camera on Monday (the old one packed in after many years of duty) and needed practice, spotted the event so close to home and decided to visit my friends of the Ulster Track Commission, and get some updates for next week Junior Champs at the same venue, as I have been invited as MC for the event (info at bottom of the report) but most of all to meet Jessica Lee in person, we chatted online a few times and had a feature of Jessica last month on this website. A very pleasant girl to talk to, her knowledge and experience immense, and giving up her free time to advise our track riders was very much appreciated by all who attended last evening!! We had a mix of under 16’s, junior & U23, and elite women & men doing some testing with tuition from Paul Dixon and Anthony Mitchell from the CU track commission, and not forgetting Jessica off-course! We also had an Italian visitor with a banana-like Velomobiel that for some strange reason called “Velo Cheese” Apparently in Holland and England they have races with this formula one “look-a-likes” Here are some photos I took…
