Peter Brown from the Cycling Ulster Youth Academy told social media “Sunday 7th August saw the Cycling Ulster Youth Road Championships promoted by Phoenix CC take place in Lower Ballinderry, Lisburn, the race also incorporated the Phoenix Open Youth Races, we had riders from as far as Galway Bay CC and Kanturk travel for the Open races. Conditions were perfect no rain, and a light wind, many of the riders would have been using the race as preparation for the upcoming National Youth Road Championships taking place in Armagh this year. The event started with the TT in the morning followed by the road races in the afternoon and all races witnessed some excellent racing. Thank you to all the Phoenix CC Members who provided all the marshaling duties to help make the race safe for the riders As is normal with the Provincial Youth Championships all age categories are awarded medals, U11-U16 (Actual medals will be awarded at the Cycling Ulster Awards ceremony later in the year) Thank you to the Sponsors of the Race: #EosSystems #dalyshyundrai #tractionfinance #mcconveycycles”
