Peter Brown (CUYA) reports: “Thanks everyone who came along to the 1st round of the CUYA league. We are very lucky to have the use of Bishopscourt Raceway outside of Downpatrick to hold these races in a very safe environment, Thanks to the owners who allow us the use of the site. Its not often we have visited Bishopscourt and it is not blowing a gale, well yesterday we started the day with no wind and the sun was shining

We had over 50 riders on the day , which started with the TT, we then changed the format slightly in that we organised a fun Team Trial, not sure if it was gladly received but it’s good sometimes to change things up a little. We had 8 teams of 6 riders per team from U8 – U16, 5 of the riders did a small loop while 1 under 16 rider did a full TT loop and the team time was taken when the U16 rider crossed the line, we might do the same on our next visit . The results of the team Time Trial are below :
Team 2, 1st, Team3, 2nd ,Team4, 3rd, Team1, 4th, Team1, 5th, Team7, 6th, Team6, 7th and Team5, 8th
After a short break for lunch the crit races started and in all age classes we witnessed some exciting racing

“I think most of the youth riders were glad to get some competitive racing again, its been a long time since the last race back in September 2022
