Cycling icon Gerben Karstens (NL) passed away today. The Leiden former cyclist, who was active in the 60’s and 70’s, and better known as “The Joker” or “Clown” was the first Dutch man to win the last stage of the TDF on the Champs-Elysées in 1976, and was loved by any supporter of cycling in that era!! Beating the fastest testers in Ulster at 17 years of age is certainly something special, Irish junior TT Champ Conor Murphy wins round 4 of the “Ernie Magwood Super 6 Series” (10 Mile TT) last night in Ballymena (Thursday 18th July) not only after breaking the junior men record in round 3 (18:37) went one better, and took another 17 seconds of that time to record a 18:20 yesterday!!! Junior Aliyah Rafferty was the fastest woman for the second time in a row!!
