What’s on in this coming weeks on our roads? (Sat 24th Aug-Sunday 22nd September) Still some points to gain for A3’s & A4’s in Armagh, the Mondello series last round in Naas, Stage race in Charleville, a sportive hosted by Ards CC, this in aid of the NI Air ambulance, a wonderful service whom has saved lives of many cyclist, and other road users! Also “Cycling Against Suicide” sportive from Mizen Head to Malin Head to be recommended!!

Tour of Strangford Charity Sportive in aid of Air Ambulance NI
Choice of 50 & 80 mile circuits of the scenic Ards Peninsula and Strangford Lough.
Starting at Ards Bowling Club (70 South Street, N’ards), lunch will be provided in Portaferry and refreshments on return to the Bowling Club. Sign-on from 8:30am (pre-registration essential).

There will be Two Separate Races, Race 1 is for A2/A3/Juniors.

Darren Rafferty selected for the Vuelta, Junior Team Ireland win Team GC in Nation Cup in Hungary, Seth Dunwoody wins TT stage, 5th in stage 2, and second in stage 1, overall 2nd in GC!!, and Caoimhe O’ Brien wins two kermesses in a row in Belgium!!! And the week is not over yet…off to Belgium, and back online on Monday 19th August!!
NextThe final round of the “2024 Ernie Magwood Super 6 Series” 10 TT at Frosses (Carriage Way Ballymena-Colraine), and promoted by Island Wheelers, last Thursday 15th Aug. The results, and coloured by some of the amazing photographs from Jerome Rafferty (Fotozone Armagh)

A short break of cycling reports due to a mini-holiday in Mayo and Galway (back on Monday 21st Nov)…but before I go two small stories of massive results for two Irish top athletes…Well done Becky Woods (VeloRevolution) with your medal at the 70.3 Worlds Iron Man Champs in Utah USA, and Ireland has a new European CX Champ with Robin Seymour (M50-54 Team Worc) in Namur Belgium!! BOOM…

Well done to Jamie Moss (Ballymena RC) in the A2, Matthew Walls (Lucan CRC) in the A3, and Bradley Fiddes (Orchard CC) in the A4 race”
