24th La Flèche Wallonne Féminine (1.WWT) One day race: Huy >> Mur de Huy (130.2km)
In the finale of the race it was not Longo Borghini, but Anna van der Breggen who set the pace on the Wall of Huy. She thanked her young locomotive teammate Vollering (DS Worx) to bring her there with a group of 11 who dominated the final. Van der Breggen never looked back and threw all her cards on the table. Her searing pace made one rider after another pass. Only Niewiadoma (CSR) seemed to have a power to stay with her. The Polish player also played it with an intermediate gear, but she did not get away from van der Breggen. On the contrary, the Dutch went a notch quicker and Niewiadoma had to let go…Anna showed again she is the best on “her” Wall of Huy. Anna van der Breggen was allowed to raise her hands in the Flèche Wallonne for the seventh time in a row today.
