Something different, maybe no bicycles but looks like a fun day!! The Runamuck Challenge is coming to Dundalk, February 2024! This is a cross country obstacle “run” event over a mucky course designed to test your mental & physical strength and leave you with a big grin on your face. Register as an individual or a group, select your wave time and brace yourself for a challenge on Irelands most popular mud run challenge! 🙂 The event takes place on McCrystals CX Track in Bellurgan Louth, minutes outside Dundalk Town! The Travers Eng. Annaclone will once again play host to the opening road race of the Irish cycle road race calendar for 2024 on Saturday 2nd March. You can now enter the 2024 edition of the Travers Eng. Annaclone GP via Eventmaster >> https://eventmaster.ie/event/rkGZIPmS9y << The event is strictly pre-entry only, with entries closing at 6pm on the 29th Feb. As per previous years, 2 races will be hosted by Banbridge CC on the day. The main feature race will follow tradition and offer riders a sporting handicap over 6 laps of the rolling Co Down circuit with a sporting handicap for a total race distance of approx. 50 miles / 80 km, with the winner being awarded the Eddie Sands Memorial Cup. The support race will cover 4 laps of the same course giving a total distance of approx. 32 miles / 51 km. In addition to the Eddie Sands Memorial Cup for the winner of the feature race, the winner of the support race will be awarded the Travers Cup.

Phoenix GP 2024 returns to its traditional Nutts corner circuit. Its sure to be a hard and fast test, one for the breakaway men and the sprinters to open up their legs. This year the race will once again finish on Lylehill with a short and punchy drag to the line. NextDisaster strikes again on Dublin roads last Sunday (18th Feb) The Irish Cycling fraternity has lost another loved one with John Walsh, UCD CC competitive cyclist member, husband, and father of 3 children. John was serious injured after a road collision, and died of his injuries in hospital soon after! Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

The final stage (5) of the 2023 “Ras Tailteann” Monaghan-Blackrock!! Dillon Corkery and his Team Ireland turns things around, taking the yellow jersey on the last stage, and Finn Crocket (Guest rider Foyle CC) taking the stage win!! The ex-pro won also the Ras Mumhan at Easter! The 133.40km took the winner 2h48m06s with an average of 47.61km an hour!! The overall average for the 769.60km was 46.54 km/hour!!!
