Navan RC reported to social media: On behalf of Navan Road Club we would like to thank all riders, volunteers and supporters for making today a safe & enjoyable race.
Bective GAA kindly provided their clubhouse for race facilities. Many thanks.
*Bective is literally the centre of Irish road racing in the upcoming week, with the Ras Tailteann due to finish @ at Bective Stud, Tea Rooms and Apartments on Sunday week.
We had 70+ riders in a A1-A2-A3 handicapped race, which lead to fast racing from KM0.
A late break of 2 riders, Mark Dowling and Luke Smith seemed to have broken clear for the win, but a ferocious chase behind reeled them in. Visiting team from China, Team Bodywrap nearly timed their sprint perfectly, but the clever fox that is Conor Murnane used his wicked sprint to kick for a fine victory. With a mixture of Juniors, A3s, A2, A1s in the top 10 it showed the value of handicap racing for riders to test themselves.
The earlier start time of 9:30am nearly caught a few riders out!! But it proved to be a popular option for riders. Racing, prize giving and tidy up were all done by lunchtime!!
Onsite for media coverage were the Belgian Project’s Dany Blondeel-Jerome Mc Namara https://www.facebook.com/danyblondeel ) & Damian Faulkner (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=D4damian&set=a.122144606402052194
