Message from the Eddy Merckx velodrome in Gent… Lara Gillespie did it again, now a silver in the 2km pursuit, this to add to her other silver already won in the scratch race earlier this week!!
So proud of Lara with her second silver medal for the Irish team, only 3 seconds away of the world record and beaten by Elynor Backstedt, one of the fastest juniors in the world, and something to aim for now as she now holds the Irish Record on the 2000m pursuit.
Photo was above taken in Derry last week in the Irish Road Champs when Lara received her travel bursary from the Belgian Project….every pound well spent I say!!
