Marcus Christie ( Ulster Elite 10 TT Champion) in a Powerhouse Sport sandwich so to speak with Xeno Young Silver and Lindsay Watson Bronze

Due to my heavy schedule, I can not visit much the TT world here in the Ulster region but made a point to be there today at Frosses on the main road to Portrush and Ballycastle. The road was busy for a Sunday but this because of The Open (One of the biggest sports event ever held in N-Ireland) and one of the main traffic arteries towards this golf tournament. But Island Wheelers the promoters made sure that everything went as safely possible with marshals at some danger points such as the start, this to indicate the road users that cyclists using the road…All went well and all 83 starters finished the 10 miles without incidents…I bet some swearing went on in the cars but hey…we used to that by now..lol

Only a few went under the 20 minutes as after the turn a headwind was to be dealt with in mainly dry conditions as the skies looked threatening, but only a wee drizzle at the end made his appearance and by then most of the massive entry already finished. Marcus Christie on a good day is unbeatable but today he had to use all his power to win the Ulster crown, as Xeno Young and Lindsay Watson for the Powerhouse House Team hot on his heels so to speak, not forgetting Iron Man Bryan McCrystal (Velo Revolution) who came 3rd but not eligible for a medal due to his Leinster Licence and Lindsay took the bronze on the Ulster podium.

There was some confusion about Bryan’s time, due to his honesty of questioning his time to the timekeepers (as he thought it was to fast according to his computer) things needed to be rectified in the end…I would say normally “he will go far in our sport” but he already did that in many disciplines for years, fair play Bryan
Best of the women was ….well who else then Eileen Burns (Ballymena RC) Eileen was not happy with her time, but still good enough to leave the others well behind.

Here below the provisional result on the time board and a full official result will be published as soon as I receive them and will be added to this report.

Bryan’s time was just under the 20 minutes a few seconds behind Xeno’s time of 19.52 and need to be confirmed
A bit of shelter before the start of his winning effort
