Course Description:
This is the 2nd year Omagh Wheelers have hosted a CX race at the Ecclesville Centre.  The adjoining park and wooded areas allow for an excellent mix of flowing grass areas, forest sections and gravel paths to create a challenging and interesting course with varied terrain.  The start is on an open flat park section that flows into gravel trails up to a testing climb through the forest section.  Some fast flowing gravel trails take the course back through the pits and into the park section. There is a challenging off-camber grass area with a power climb in the last quarter of the lap which will provide a challenging technical section and is a key area for photographers to get great shots  The course then heads towards the finish line is at the back of the Ecclesville Centre.  A double pit is in operation in the open gravel area between the park and the forest areas.  The youth races will use the parking area of the course.
A water container and portaloos will be provided in the pits area.  The Ecclesville Centre has ample parking as well as hot showers and toilets.

Some of the medal contenders

Darren Rafferty has proven already that he is a handful for the Elite men and this as a first-year junior…A podium is very much possible if not top spot!
2 more contenders for gold, Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) fresh from 2 UCI crosses in Belgium and Thomas Creighton (Mc Convey Cycles)
Des Woods (Newry Wheelers) my tip for the M50’s but will have to get rid of Brendan Doherty (Vc Glendale) who has about same form lately
Brendan Doherty M50 podium contender
M40 favourite Alan Bingham
Ulster League winner 2019 Niamh McKIverigan (Scott-Eurocycles.com) should get this Barr accidents but her rival Judith Russell will make sure there is a race on and make it hard for Niamh
Judith Russel (Phoenix CC) a very likely podium contender
Eileen Burns (Ballymena RC) done only 3 cross races in her career, but in her 3rd attempt she got already a bronze…my each-way bet of the day
Graham Boyd (Mc Convey Cycles) another big contender for gold
U/16 girls favourite Erin Creighton (Mc Convey Cycles)
U/16 boys favourite Shane Scullion (Island Wheelers)
As fast as Sean Kelly …lol
