What can I say more about Lindsay Watson that is not said already…The Powerhouse Sports Team captain just to good for much of our top riders. Last year’s runner up of the A1 Cycling Ireland rankings started 2020 as he finished in 2019, this in the opener yesterday in Annaclone (Travers Engineering GP) and just pipped on the line by John Buller, and rectified that result with an amazing solo win yesterday at the George Rooney GP in Antrim. Handicap is not in his vocabulary …he reached the A2 group in no time, got a breeder and then chased the early break of the A2’s, caught them and left them behind to win solo on a long uphill drag to the new finishing line. The new-look of the Powerhouse Sports Team was earlier already victorious with Cahir Doyle (U23) in the A3 race. My congratulations to Julie Rea and her army of Phoenix CC volunteers for a job well done
