Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) has won the closing time trial, ahead of cannons like Stefan Küng and world champion Filippo Ganna. Van Aert finished 2nd in the rankings, behind the unapproachable Tadej Pogacar. Who could keep Filippo Ganna from a 9th-time trial victory in a row? The Italian had not lost a job against the clock since January 28, 2020. European champion Stefan Küng was 5 seconds faster after 4.4 kilometers than world champion Ganna and did not budge in the second part with the wind at a disadvantage.
