Tim Merlier won his third one-day race in a row in Koksijde, Wherever Tim Merlier nowadays starts in the one-day races, the 1st prize is for the Alpecin-Fenix sprint bomb. He is increasingly establishing his name among the top sprinters. The race starts at the coast in West Flanders in Bredene (near Oostende) and goes to the well-known hills such as the Rode Berg, the Sulferberg, the Monteberg, and the nutcracker The Kemmelberg…A group got away with 100 km to go on the way back to the coast with pan flat roads and lots of wind to deal with …it broke into many groups and Lukas PÖSTLBERGER from Bora Hansgrohe being in the front break took his chances and tried his luck, felt so sorry to see him caught so close to the finish for the 2015 hero of the Ras. The chase zoomed by him and Mads Pedersen (Trek) started his launch to the line but easily remounted by Tim Merlier at the finish line. Tim took his 3rd win of the road season and ready for the spring classics who coming up in the next weeks!!
