His son Jonny told social media: “In January this year Dad had a serious accident, resulting in life changing injuries. On the day, the Air Ambulance were tasked and on site very quickly and without them it could have been a different story! Dad always appreciated the work of the Air Ambulance, and it’s fair to say he’s an even bigger supporter of the service now! The Air Ambulance in Northern Ireland is a relatively new service, with it’s first tasking in July 2017. Everyday it costs in the region of £5,500 to keep this service operational. To show our thanks, Jim Adams and a few others in the cycling community are organising the Ride for Raymond cyclo-cross event in January 2023, to raise money for the Air Ambulance. Please show your support for this event by riding, entering the raffle or just donating to the event itself! A just giving link will be shared once set up!”
