Here we are!! “The 2024 Belgian Project Bursary Awards” finally ready to announce!! Due to so many big performances of the selection pool (37 entries), it was very hard to choose, and pleased that at least 26 bursaries will be distributed this week!! (Monday 17th June)

Foreword Dany B: Extremely difficult decisions I had to make, selections have been done on merit, considering results here and in Europe! Also communication with me each month to update me with their results was part of the deal. I have been present at domestique races, to watch behaviour, and work rate in the peloton to make a educational choice. The £3000 (€3550 approx) in total to be given was gathered partly from the sponsors, and the clubs who invited me to be the MC in their events which I am very grateful for. Normally I have about 14-16 bursaries to share, but with such difficult selection I decided to give less to each and divided with 26 young stars instead. My search for new guest parents for 2 juniors has not been successful yet, not giving up, but very hard to find such dedicated families, but this maybe has to be postponed this year. 2 under 23’s and ex- graduates of the project will travel to Belgium, staying with my guest parents in Moorslede (Sabien and Rik) who invited them to come back for a few weeks in July, they fund this with their own money, but with my support. The cheques will be handed over at the Nationals in Athea to start, and the following weeks if you not there, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RECIPIENS, yours in sport, Dany B
