The 2025 “Wallace Caldwell Memorial” provisional start list courtesy of the promoter Ballymena RC. The race head quarters are in the Randalstown Rugby Club, with sign on from 8am-9am… race’s start 10am (Saturday 12th April)

The 2025 “Wallace Caldwell Memorial” provisional start list courtesy of the promoter Ballymena RC. The race head quarters are in the Randalstown Rugby Club, with sign on from 8am-9am… race’s start 10am (Saturday 12th April)

Race 1 – Handicapped – 80 Riders (C1/C2)
Race 2- scratch Race – 45 riders (C3 + Women’s)
After talking to Cycling Ulster and the Comms, it was deemed that 65 Miles (4 laps) would be the best race distance for the day!
C3 & Women’s race will be 48 miles
Prizes – Overall Top 3 & Top 3 Unplaced C2 & Top 3 Unplaced C3 & 1st Woman

There is more C3 entries due to extending the deadline for the C3’s and will be added here asap

(Sat 21st Jan-Sunday 22nd Jan) Charity CX in Armagh, Munster CX in Dungarvan, Co-Waterford, and the Louth CX Champs in Stumpa, Bridge A Crinn…The CX season is nearly finished, only the Sean Sharkey Memorial CX to come next weekend (Sat 28th Jan) at the Mc Crystal track!!

In memory of my grandfather Hector Dekeyser, who was wounded at the Somme in the “Great War” and survived …between the 2 wars he had a cycle repair shop in Wenduine (Belgian Coastal Town) and in the Thirties he starting delivering beer to the pubs from his yard (Bergenbier) this till the end of the sixties. He was the man who got me interested in cycling!! The bicycle and cyclists, they played a very important part in both wars…here some stories (11 Nov 2022)
