Adam Ward ( Bioracer-DHL-FR) started the winning break and made sure he finished it in a style as we have been so used to in the past, his second win of the year. Nathan Mullan ( Dromara CC)was his partner in crime in the first lap who also took the KOH and soon 4 others joined the break, with Craig McAuley (Caldwell Cycles), Donal Shearer (Phoenix CC), Jody Wright (Phoenix CC and Nathan Keown (NDCC) and they stayed away, Nathan Mullan had to let go midway the race after his efforts earlier and a chase group containing Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse), Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles), David Montgomery (U/A) and Liam Curley (Strata- Velo Revolution) not being able to get the front back and they had to be happy with the minor places. In the A4 race Michael Reilly ( U/A)went away after 200 meters and never be seen back…he time trialled for the next 60 km to take an impressive win, with Peter Mc Clean (U/A) winning the sprint of the chasing bunch. In the masters, Paul Mc Arthur NDCC done nearly the same and also took more than 3 minutes to win also in style with Daniel Logue from Foyle CC taking a second place. As Eileen Burns and Laura Campbell competed in the main race, the girl from Wicklow Fiona Kelly was the only women in the A4 race and she was awarded the KOH for the ladies and first prize in the bargain…
