Saturday 29th February: “The West Down Wheelers 100 km coastal run” Katesbridge, County Down: 9.30 am in aid of the Belgian Project
Once again Weather Permitting we are holding our 100 KM Coastal Run Starting/Finishing in Katesbridge, Going to Castlewellan turning right at Roundabout via Kilcoo, Approx mile outside Kilcoo at the Staggered Crossroads turning left for Hilltown, at the outskirts of Hilltown turn left for Spelga, after Approx 2 mile Turn right for Rostrevor up past Santa’s cottage, at the roundabout in Rostrevor turning left for Kilkeel at outskirts Kilkeel turn left after couple mile Turning right then half a mile turn left down into outskirts of Kilkeel, Turning left via Ballymartin, Annalong, Into Newcastle, in Newcastle head for Castlewellan and on to Finnish Katesbridge for well deserved Rest and Refreshments, Once again the Belgian Project will benefit from it!! A great thank you and appreciation to the WDW club, who have done this now for the Belgian Project for the 5th year in a row, and always had the support of the neighbouring clubs, the donation will be added to the BP bursary fund of 2020, yours in sport Dany Blondeel (Founder BP)
Saturday 29th February: “Toby’s Cancer Fund For Children Ride 2020” Balmoral Hotel, Blacks Road, Belfast 10 am, promoted by VC Glendale and Toby Watson’s friends
Once again ALL proceeds will go to the Cancer Fund for Children the ride will be a controlled pace of 50km by experienced club members from Finaghy to Lisburn through the quiet roads of Blaris – Maze – Moria, back to Lisburn before finishing back at the Balmoral Hotel the leaders will try their best to keep the group together with a leisurely pace with friendly chat and banter. Sunday 1st March:” Island Wheelers Reliability Trial” Gortgonis Sports Centre, Coalisland, Mid Ulster, 10 am start
Keep Sunday 1st March free as the club will host its rescheduled 100km reliability trial. Sign on will be from 9 am in Gortgonis Sports Centre, Coalisland. Roll out will be at 10.00 am for the main group and 9.30 am for the leisure group. Entry is £10 for everyone with the exceptions of youth which will be £3. There will be a short refreshment/toilet stop in Toome for the 100km route. The main group will be an ideal fitness test ahead of the racing season for all those planning to race the following weekend. We have also planned to keep the main group together until through Cookstown due to traffic lights through the town. This is an official Cycling Ireland event and all cyclists must have a current licence if not there will also be one day licence on the day at an additional cost of £5. Refreshments and showers will be available after for everyone. Routes will be marked and published before the event. Please feel free to share this event.
Sunday 1st March: “The Dunloy CC Reliability Trial” Dunloy Parish Centre, Dunloy, Co-Antrim,10 am start
Our annual Reliability Trial will take place on Sunday 1st March at 10 am.
Sign-on is taking place in Dunloy Parish Hall and non-Cycling Ireland members can also take part if they purchase a CI One Day Licence at a cost of £5.
