We live in strange times, and we have to cope as best possible, but at least we can enjoy racing again in the park and fields…It takes guts and perseverance for any organiser to deliver the goods with so many precautions and rules to deal with, smaller fields also means less income and without sponsors, they would go into the red! Finding the volunteers to help out before, during, and after also a big ask…but when they manage to do so very rewarding…Today it was the first cross of the season and for the last 5 years, it has been the “Brian Kinning GP Memorial” and his son Glenn and his loyal volunteers putting all the stops out to make this happen…and happen it did in style!! Only 3 races on the menu with the Ladies race to start which included the U14-U16 youth section, the B-Men’s Elite race, and the men’s Elite race to end the day. One hour between each race to let the competitors go home after the race, and the next competitors to get ready which means never to many people at the circuit at one time…no spectator’s as such, except one parent for each youth allowed and support crew for the pit for the others. Sunshine and CX on an Autumn Sunday!! Did we miss it alright… Here below some photos of David Mc Veigh our loyal photographer-volunteer and results from Martin Grimley and his time team (Chief Comm and timekeeper) with thanks to both
