The time trial in Paris-Nice sees Stefan Bissegger (EF Education-Nippo) as a surprise winner. The 22-year-old Swiss talent was barely 0 ”83 faster than Rémi Cavagna (Deceuninck-Quick Step) and is also the new leader in one fell swoop. Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) highlighted his favorite role among the candidates for the overall victory. Michael Matthews did what he could on the day but lost his Yellow to the young Swiss. Sam done enough to keep his green for another day, he was 1m 24s down on the winner. Tomorrow we have a climber stage with some Cat 2 climbs and a Cat 1 mountain top finish.
